3 day Tour  - The South of Israel

day 1: The Negev desert

Meeting: 8:00am at your hotel in Tel Aviv
  

The tour: Our first destination is the Air Force Museum outside the city of Beer Sheva. We will see the actual planes that were the Israel Air Force in its creation and how it developed to one of the best air forces in the world. From there we will drive to the tomb of Ben Gurion above the amazing view of the Tzin valley where we will understand the vision of Ben Gurion of the desert and what he did to make it happen. A very short drive away we will walk a short trail to a secret hiding nature gem – the water springs of Ovdat and the water fall in the desert. Then we will go to Mitzpe Ramon and settle down in our hotel.  

 

End: 17:00pm (5pm) at the hotel in Mitzpe Ramon 

 

day 2: The mountains of Eilat
 

Meeting: 8:00am at hotel in Mitzpe Ramon
  

The tour: We start with a drive a drive through the Ramon Crater. We will understand how this geological phenomena was created and why is it unique in the world. After a long 2 hour drive, we will get to the mountains outside Eilat where we can find a rock structure from the time of the creation of earth. Amongst this genesis landscape we will stretch our limbs on a very short hike on an easy trail to see one of the most amazing views in Israel. We will drive down to Eilat and go snorkeling in the coral reef of the red sea.  

 

End: 17:00pm (5pm) at the hotel in Eilat

day 3: Geological phenomena in the Timna Park

Meeting: 8:00am at the hotel in Eilat
  

The tour: We'll drive a short drive to the Timna Park and see the amazing geological phenomena carved in soft Nubian sand stone like the Solomon's Pillars and the Arch. We will see the ancient Egyptian copper mines and even more ancient rock paintings by cavemen. On the drive up north we will stop at a kibbutz and learn about the innovations in desert agriculture that allow them to prosper in the middle of the desert. We will also see a date tree that grows from a 2000 year old pit found in the archeological excavations on Masada. Then there will be a long 3 hour drive strait back to Tel Aviv in time to relax a little on the beach. 

 

End: 18:00pm (6pm) back at your hotel in Tel Aviv
